Partnership Scholarship Supports Detroit’s Next Generation

Henry Ford Health + Michigan State University Health Sciences is proud to support the next generation of leaders by awarding up to 50 Henry Ford + MSU scholarships over the next decade. Whether they are passionate about health sciences, education, business, or other fields, the scholarship will help high school students pursue their career goals.
"This scholarship opens doors for Detroit students, giving them the support and guidance they need to pursue their ambition for a career in their chosen field,” said Norm Hubbard, Henry Ford + MSU president.
The scholarship was created with students from Detroit high schools in mind as part of the Future of Health: Detroit development. To qualify, high school students must attend Northwestern High School or University Preparatory Academy High School, apply to MSU as a first-year student, be a resident of Michigan, qualify for the Pell Grant, and have a total household income of $65,000 or less.
This Henry Ford + MSU scholarship includes full tuition coverage for four years (eight semesters) through MSU’s Spartan Tuition Advantage, a $3,000 annual housing stipend for the first two years in MSU’s on-campus housing, and personalized support and mentorship through the Detroit M.A.D.E. Scholars Program.
Students are automatically considered for the scholarship when they complete the FAFAS and are admitted to MSU. As of today, five students have been awarded the Henry Ford + MSU Scholarship and will attend Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business, College of Communication Arts and Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Natural Science and College of Social Science.
